Pleasure Of Reading
Hi, I am Brij Sachdeva.
This blog was created by me not to tell you how to do this, how to do that or about the ten ways to a successful life or eleven ways to control your spouse.
‘Brij Sachdeva Blog’ is all about the pleasure of reading. In this blog, only those posts are published, that do not hurt any party line. Several other posts written by me are not published because they are likely to hurt the sentiments of various party lines.
As far as my standpoint or opinion expressed in my writings and the authenticity of my viewpoint is concerned, I think there is no point, that can not be refuted.
If I say, pointing towards a fan, that this is a fan, you can find something like a screw missing and refute my statement by saying that you can’t call it a fan because a screw is missing. If I insist that it is obvious that this is a fan, you can prove your point by asking me “If all the blades are missing then?” If I further insist -“ if the motor is missing then?” Certainly, you can’t call it a fan when the blades and body are taken away. At the most, you can say that this is the part of a fan. Then how can you call it a fan when a screw is missing? When parts of ‘The Ship Of Theseus’ were removed and replaced by new ones, one by one, the question was raised whether the ship was the original ship or not.
So, it is the easiest task to refute the statements and opinions of others. People are doing this in routine conversations with such ease and quickness that they are not aware of how they are doing it without any deliberation. You can simply go out of context and refute the author.
For example, on a certain day, I was explaining to my friends the meaning of corruption from the existential perspective which is far beyond the economic perspective. I said, “As fire is hot and water flows downwards, similarly the man is essentially corrupt by nature”. One of my friends refuted my statement by saying, “We make the water flow upwards using a motor pump”. I said, “That is the nature of the motor, not water.”
This is the way we escape out of the context and perspective, and become insensitive to the significance, the beauty of expression and the feelings of the speaker or author, when we are bent upon finding contradictions, especially when we are incompetent for the argument. If you are clever enough, you can find tons of contradictions in almost every expression. But the frame of reference, context and the emphasis from which the author is expressing a certain situation, should also be respected.
In my blog post RAVANA DELUSION I have explained how easily people can refute the very fundamental wisdom of a religion, just out of ignorance.
Finally, the point I am trying to make here is that my writings have nothing to do with right, wrong, good or bad. But one thing is guaranteed I am certainly going to compel you to think along a new direction. To me, right or wrong doesn’t matter. Only beauty matters. So, if you want to have a taste of the vision of the author and the essence of the expression, read ‘BRIJ SACHDEVA BLOG’ without prejudice or judging, giving no importance to grammatical accuracy and scholarly excellence.
This blog is not meant for the pleasure of judging. This is meant for the pleasure of reading
