INJECTION WILL POWER

- "Willpower is the rock bottom of success."
- "If freedom is short of weapons, we must compensate with willpower.”
- "Where there is a will, there is a way.
Injections of medicine are needed if there is an illness. Our minds are sick. So, we need injections of willpower. We just start following what is injected into our minds through repetitive suggestions. This is how hypnotism works. It is a great device. It works very well.
Willpower is all about the urgency of aspiring for something. But the urgency has to be real and valid. You cannot aspire to become a police officer if you do not fulfil the eligibility criterion for hight. You cannot increase your hight. Once I aspired to become a bank officer. In those days, there was no internet. Books were the only means for education. Coaching institutes were available but I was aspiring to become a bank officer without any books or coaching. My brother had given me an injection of willpower, so I travelled eighty kilometres and reached my cousin sister’s home to appear in the competitive exam. My brother in law noticed that I was going to appear in the examination, the very next day, but I was not reading any book. So, out of curiosity, he asked me why I was not reading any books. I said that there are no books. The syllabus is from the qualifying course passed. He said, “ You please don’t tell me this. I am a bank officer, so you cannot fool me, okay? I just can’t believe this. I respect your willpower but I know that there are thousands of books available. You need to buy a few of them and read ”
Just the other day, I came across a motivational message stating that when a cat runs after a rat, most of the time the rat wins, emphasising that it happens because of the willpower of the rat. Now, look at the urgency of the cat and that of the rat. For a rat, it is a question of life and death, whereas for a cat it is a question of lunch or dinner. Here will power is not injected. It is supported by urgency. It is supported by reality. This urgency is not induced. This is real, genuine, valid and natural.
Suppose, you are playing with a ball and suddenly the ball slips out of your hand and falls on the other side of a stagnant pool of filth. You have to pass through all the filth to get that ball. Now, will you aspire to have that ball back? No, I am sure. Now suppose, you are in a jail, as a prisoner sentenced to death. One day, it happens that the wall of the jail gets broken, and there is a chance to escape. But, on the other side of the broken wall, there is a huge stagnant pool of filth. Beyond the filth there is freedom. Now, you will definitely aspire to have that freedom, even if you have to pass through all the filth. This is because now you have enough of the passion, the drive, the focus and of course, the broken wall as a support. And when you have all these things, willpower is an inevitable consequence.
You can aspire to attain anything as long as you have the drive, the passion, the focus and the support. But if you are lacking any one of these, you may prove to be a loser. You can aspire to attain anything but your aspiration has to be founded on the ground of reality. Only then it is authentic and valid. By beating the wall, you cannot transform it into a door.
Here, I am not trying to prove that the willpower cannot be injected or it does not work. Actually, I just want to emphasise that willpower is real, valid and authentic, only when it is founded on urgency, reality and understanding. Otherwise, it is an illusion. It appears to you that injection of willpower is working. But actually, in the background, it is the urgency that is working. It is the reality that is working. It is the understanding that is working.
